The facilities, which are the first of their kind in Europe, will allow participation platforms, electronic voting and traceability systems for the energy, manufacturing and automotive sectors to be tested
The digital world and commercial relations have gone hand in hand for more than a decade, and the new challenge they face is to ensure that the businesses and the procedures are more secure, transparent, and efficient. The technology called Blockchain has been created to do just that. It is a record of digital transactions where the information cannot be altered, a fact that makes the system an "arbitrator" of the process in itself, and facilitates the relationships in the chain of intermediaries. Therefore it is a technology that offers accuracy, security and transparency, while accelerating business transactions.
TECNALIA has created the first industrial Blockchain laboratory, a pioneer in Europe, where companies can experiment with their challenges and needs, see demonstrations and real success stories, and test technological solutions and business models related to this technology. Hence participation platforms, electronic voting and traceability systems for the energy, manufacturing and automotive sectors will be tested in this laboratory. Eventually, these technological solutions will be set up in order to implement them within the business fabric.
The industrial laboratory located in the Bizkaia Technology Park will allow experiments to be done in three main areas: Industry 4.0, socio-economics and the protection of intellectual property, and it will do so through pilot experiments so that the impact and the potential of Blockchain technology can be analysed in each of these areas.
