The SusChem Awards, aimed at young people under the age of 40, are structured into three categories representing different areas of performance of young chemistry researchers: future, research and innovate. These awards provide recognition to the best academic career (Future), the best scientific publication (Research), and the best work in the field of innovation based on public-private collaboration (Innovate).

The winners of the 15th Edition:

  • Future Category

The finalists were Esther Calviño Sanlés, Chemistry graduate from Coruña University, and Guillermo Gómez Tenés, Chemistry graduate from Valencia University. The winner is Francisco Javier Sánchez Baygual, a graduate in Chemistry from the Ramon Llull University (Institut Químic de Sarrià) for his brilliant academic career and extracurricular merits.

  • Research Category

In this case, the finalists were Iago Pozo Míguez, PhD in Chemical Science and Technology, and Laura Mariño Pérez, PhD in Chemical Science and Technology.
Pablo Garrido Barros, PhD in Chemistry, was selected as the winner for his work Tandem electrocatalytic N2 fixation via proton-coupled electron transfer, developed at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

  • Innovate Category
