Verifying the sound absorption of seats and linings is an essential step for product acceptance in concert halls and auditoriums
TECNALIA has characterised the sound absorption of different seats by ASCENDER, S.L., prior to their installation in the Zaryadye concert hall in Moscow, and in the FIS Auditorium in Hong Kong.
The acoustics of a concert hall or auditorium is vital. For their design, IT models or real scale models are made. They help the designers to determine the sound absorption of the elements that will need to be installed in order to fulfil the established acoustic objectives.
The seating area is another important space, where we help the manufacturer to verify the sound absorption in the designed configuration and the influence of it being fully or partially occupied by people may have. To do so, we have carried out tests in a reverberating chamber (*) in accordance with ISO 354.
These tests enable the manufacturer to launch the product on the market, the designer to select the appropriate products in accordance with the hall's acoustic requirements, and the developer to verify the product features prior to its installation.
ASCENDER, S.L., a company located in Ezcaray, has extensive experience in the manufacture of seats for large-scale international projects (www.ascender.es); projects in which the acoustic performance of the products is essential in coordination with aesthetic and functionality concepts.
