We offer assisted reproduction clinics an innovative service in preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)

18 June 2018

We will have the chance to present this new Service at the 34th Annual Meeting of ESHRE, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, which will be held in Barcelona from 1st to 4th July

Our Genetics Laboratory makes available a new Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) service for assisted reproduction clinics via Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

From just one biopsy and a single test, the NGS technique applied to PGD that we provide allows simultaneous detection of mutations linked to monogenic diseases (monogenic PGD, PGD-M) and the presence of numeric alterations in chromosomes (aneuploidy PGD, PGD-A) that safeguard embryo viability.

Simultaneous identification of aneuploidy and mutation in the embryo is a clear advantage compared to other methodologies, because it allows to reduce costs and also obtain results faster.

This analysis system is compatible with both fresh and frozen transfers, with an analysis period that allows to obtain results in less than 24 hours of the samples arriving at the laboratory for cases of fresh transfer and less than 10 days for cases of frozen transfer.

TECNALIA has recently reinforced its Genetics Laboratory by purchasing additional Illumina MiseQ equipment, which will allow it to continue meeting the demand of its clients.

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) will meet in Barcelona from 1 to 4 July, where experts from our Genetics Laboratory will present their new Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.

We look forward to seeing you at ESHRE 2018 at the TECNALIA stand no. 025!
