AI in Industry
In the midst of the fourth industrial revolution, various technologies are making their way into the industry, offering new possibilities and introducing diverse challenges. Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out for its capabilities to foster increased automation, efficiency, productivity and new services associated with existing processes and products.
However, the adoption of AI also fuels various social misgivings. Therefore, socio-ethical dilemmas related to surveillance and control in the workplace, as well as anxiety caused by potential mass unemployment or de-qualification and re-qualification processes linked to this type of technological innovation, are common.
It seems clear that the adoption of AI in industry will require a major reorientation (infrastructures, processes, profiles, competencies, etc.), but also closer collaboration between the stakeholders involved in its development (researchers, technologists, companies, administration, social agents).
Purpose of the event
The aim of this event is to learn from AI experts and other stakeholders involved and affected by the adoption of AI in industry:
- What are the social challenges raised by its adoption in Basque industry?
- What are the implications for the labour market, future jobs and training?
- We will also find out first-hand about the opinion of citizens regarding this technological and social transformation, through various formats (oral, virtual and face-to-face) in which the attendees will be able to establish a dialogue with the invited stakeholders.
