The added-value of BIM for Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Infrastructure

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the workshop is to carry out a life-cycle analysis of health-related infrastructure such as hospitals, clinics, outpatient care centres, as well as laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities.

The aim is to learn about case studies where BIM has been applied in each of these types of facilities during various stages of design, construction, manufacturing and maintenance, as well as to analyse the important benefits for public administrations and asset and infrastructure managers.

BIM tools are not simply innovative drawing programmes, they are databases that use smart objects to associate the information allowing geometrical, economical, functional, technical, and performance characteristics of a facility to be selectively represented.

In conclusion, BIM is a collaborative working methodology used to create and manage an infrastructure or building project with the aim of encouraging its use throughout its entire life-cycle.

WHY YOU SIMPLY CAN’T MISS THIS WORKSHOP

This workshop will try to answer a series of questions:

Why would it be interesting to implement BIM in healthcare and pharmaceutical infrastructure?, Is it the right time to do it?, Will it be something mandatory in the near future?, Does the owner save time and money using BIM?, What do I have to do to implement it? Is it for new infrastructure, or for renovating existing infrastructure?, etc.

In short, attendees will be informed about how the “Industry 4.0” philosophy can be transferred to the healthcare and pharmaceutical infrastructure sector, where the rate of digitalisation can be significantly improved.

AIMED AT

Managers and department managers of hospitals, health centres, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as technicians and managers of Basque Government Public Administrations, Provincial Councils, Osakidetza, Osalan, and the Ministry of Health.
