Electronic devices are exposed to a number of risks derived from not using good development practices or safe patterns, in addition to threats due to their vulnerabilities.
Analysing attacks usually focusses on the existence of known vulnerabilities in third-party software or on measures to secure the system (passwords, encryption, etc.). There are however, some risks that are inherent to the system design and code itself, which are not always that obvious.
C programming language is the most flexible there is to date, and it provides great potential, but it also introduces a series of risks that must be considered when faced with more frequent attacks aimed at control devices and infrastructures, attacks that are increasingly sophisticated. In this respect, there are patterns, tools, and good practices that allow safe code to be developed in C without needing to resort to exhaustive white box auditing. The webinar will present examples of these.
