During the course of the workshop, ideas and contributions will be collected from the participants related to project management and policies, which will be used to draw up the final report of our study.
The analysis has been carried out in terms of its scientific, economic, social and environmental performance and impact in individual projects and project clusters. On moving from Horizon 2020 to Horizon Europe, the European Commission wishes to evaluate the impact of projects beyond their duration with their immediate results: which are called “impact pathways”.
An innovative element of IMPACT-SC5 is the development of an evaluation framework and a set of indicators to determine whether medium and long-term changes can be expected in science, society and the economy, based on the short-term results. This evaluation has not only been carried out for the 87 individual projects, but also for logical project clusters, which have been called portfolios.
AGENDA
The findings of the IMPACT-SC5 project, including the policy and project management recommendations will be presented. Within the context of the impact pathway approach, participants will be invited to reflect critically on our findings in order to develop guidelines and tools for:
-
- Those responsible for the drafting of work programmes and the issues of calls
- Bodies responsible for project assessment and monitoring
- Applicants
AIMED AT
This workshop aims to present the results of our IMPACT-SC5 project
- to national and EU policy leaders
- to experts in the evaluation of R&D and innovation policies
- and other interested parties, in general
FURTHER INFORMATION
- Horizon Europe describes “impact pathways” as follows: logical steps towards achieving the expected impact of a project over time, particularly beyond the project’s duration. An “impact pathway” begins with the project results, up to their dissemination, exploitation and communication, contributing to the expected results in the topic of the Work Programme and, ultimately, to the broader scientific, economic and social impact.
- Impact-SC5 is an H2020 project that has analysed 87 RIA (Research and Innovation Action) and IA (Innovation Action) projects, funded within the framework of the 2014-2015 Work Programme for Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 “Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials”.
