Smart grids. Digitalisation and energy storage - Technological challenges and business opportunities
Electrical grids are the backbone of the energy system. As such, these networks, and in particular the distribution grid, support to a great extent the challenge of moving forward towards a smarter network model. This highlights the importance of analysing the business opportunities and perspectives of the electrical equipment industry in this field.
The aim of the XV International Electrical Equipment Conference with the title this year being “Smart grids. Digitalisation and energy storage. Technological challenges and business opportunities” is to promote a forum meeting where experts and researchers from different countries and areas can exchange ideas and discuss the state of the art and developments in the electrical sector, with particular emphasis on the progress towards future smart grids, as well as analysing regulatory issues and business models.
The JIEEC-2017 will focus on the technology and the strategic aspects in the international and European environments. The implications of energy storage for electrical grids will also be examined, as well as the digital transformation, and the technological implications for smart grids and for the capital goods industry. It will also address the implications that the technology and digitalisation will have on the electrical distribution business, analysing the aspects and issues related to the consumer and the new technologies ("behind the meter").
The event will feature high-level speakers from the electricity sector and industry, providing a meeting place for professionals in the field of electrical grids from companies and technology centres. It also aims to highlight and contrast existing experiences and technologies, and to enrich professional relationships.
