We are one of the two Spanish entities accredited in this role
TECNALIA has recently been accredited as an observer of the Green Climate Fund, a United Nations global fund to finance actions aimed at reducing GHG emissions and the adaptation to climate change.
There are currently only two private Spanish entities in this role as observer, TECNALIA being one of them.
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was founded in 2010 by the UN, within the framework of the Climate Change Convention. Its aim is to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change, helping them to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to the risks associated with climate change. One of the main objectives of the GCF is the promotion and management of investments in developments associated with low CO2 emissions and measures that increase the resilience to climate change, hence fostering a paradigm shift related to the worldwide response to climate change.
The observers represent important agents from society and private entities, who interact actively with members of the fund and co-presidents in the meetings organised by the GCF.
