The BRTA (Basque Research & Technology Alliance) has awarded three promising young people for their projection in research and three researchers for their career achievement in the alliance's centres
Amaia González Garrido, Power Systems researcher at TECNALIA, has been recognised for her research projection. Amaia focuses on developing optimisation algorithms for the energy management of renewable energy plants, self-consumption and electric vehicle charging. "My main motivation when it comes to research is to contribute to a sustainable energy transition," she says.
Artzai Picón, Industry and Mobility researcher at TECNALIA, and Javier Del Ser, Artificial Intelligence researcher at TECNALIA, also received awards in the Career Achievement category.
Recognition of researchers
In its second edition, the awards ceremony took place at the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park, with the participation of the Basque President Iñigo Urkullu Renteria, Arantxa Tapia Otaegi, Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government, Rikardo Bueno Zabalo, General Manager of the BRTA alliance, and the General Manager of the SPRI Group, Aitor Urzelai.
These awards serve to recognise, value and stimulate the work of the people who dedicate their efforts to research, development and technology transfer in the BRTA alliance centres. The work of all the award winners contributes to improving the Basque economy, companies and society in general.
