Successful industry acceptance of our “corrosion course”
Corrosion, or in other words, the durability of materials, components and equipment is a challenge for practically all of the industrial sectors. It is estimated that losses caused by corrosion in developed countries are around 3% of the GDP.
Failure to take into account the problems associated with corrosion cause production damages due to process stoppages, contamination and product wastage, design over-sizing, accidents, fines as a result of discharges or increased occupational risks.
Corrosion Course
More than 100 people from over 60 industries, such as CAF, Erreka, Sener, Lointek, Tubacex, Hempel, BASF, Repsol, Gamesa or Iberdrola, among others, have already done our "corrosion course". 53% of participants have come from outside the Basque Country.
Having a more in-depth understanding of the phenomena that cause the different corrosion processes, knowing protection methods and the techniques for their monitoring have been the main objectives.
A series of real case studies to analyse the faults detected were presented in the course.
