Cybersecurity start-ups meet at ECSO STARtup Award

Europe's 11 best cybersecurity start-ups at the ECSO STARtup Award 2022

The 11 best cybersecurity start-ups in Europe came together in the final at the BAT Tower in Bilbao in search of the prize awarded by ECSO, the European Cyber Security Organisation. More than 30 investment organisations from Europe, America and the Middle East participated in this ECSO European Cyber Security Organisation event organised by the BCSC Basque CyberSecurity Centre.

The ECSO STARTup Award 2022 brought more than 200 people to Bilbao

Mindflow, ANGOKA, brighterAI, Cryptomage, Alcyconie, Exalens, Omnios, Vaultree, Cyscale, Strong Network Inc. and ResQuant, as start-up finalists, had the opportunity to present their projects to a jury chaired by José Palacio from Grupo Santander, and answer a round of questions from the jury.

The panel was made up of Josu Franco from WatchGuard Technologies, Gerd Müller from secunet Security Networks, Michael Lucassen from TIIN Capital, Willi Mannheim from eCAPITAL, Egita Polanska from Startup Wise Guys, our colleague Ana Ayerbe (ECSO board member), Jeroen Schipper from Den Haag Municipality and Victoria Valbuena from INCIBE to decide on the best European start-up 2022.

Women-founded cybersecurity companies

Mindflow was the winning company and ANGOKA won the Women4Cyber Start-up Award. This award is being presented for the first time, and aims to recognise cybersecurity companies founded by women or in which at least 50 % of the employees are women.

Javier Diéguez, director of the BCSC, concluded this successful event devoted to raising the visibility of small companies that are innovative in this sector with great ideas, highlighting those led by women.
