“This approach enhances monitoring capabilities, while facilitating effective alert management and rapid decision-making in emergency situations”

TECNALIA develops a digital platform for the early identification of incidents in tunnels and industrial environments.

Together with the companies Externalia Solutions, Hierros Abra, Lurpelan and Abra Seguridad, TECNALIA has developed an innovative technological solution capable of early identification and real-time geolocation of incidents in critical industrial environments, as well as in tunnels, in order to optimise the response to possible anomalies and enhance safety.

Advanced tools for effective prevention

This smart system, developed within the framework of the SEGITU project, integrates advanced monitoring and data analysis tools to ensure effective problem prevention and resolution. It allows monitoring of operator positioning in tunnels and critical industrial environments.

The digital platform combines next-generation algorithms with predictive capabilities, enhances agility in the detection and reception of information, and improves decision-making based on real-time data.

Operation of the new system

The positioning system is based on the use of portable tracking devices or “trackers”, which automatically give the indoor position of the operator carrying it. This information, along with other relevant data (temperature, device battery, etc.), is sent wirelessly to a hub, which links to a cloud database where the data is stored for logging and security alert management. The devices also have a panic button, which serves as a warning or alarm to the end-user by the operator.

The information received is integrated into the web platform developed by TECNALIA, which centralises the data obtained from the trackers. It allows real-time geolocalised visualisation and provides 3D models of industrial environments.

This approach improves monitoring capacity, while facilitating effective alert management and rapid decision-making in emergency situations.
