Europe is focusing efforts on energy optimisation by electrifying components and systems
Electrification is an opportunity in the automotive field and other industries that can gain a competitive advantage with its use and implementation. In the agricultural and livestock industry, more and more projects are being developed to apply electrification and the use of hydrogen: the goal is to move towards greater sustainability and competitiveness in the sector.
In some cases, these segments are more prone to electrification than passenger vehicles due to their specific use or the work cycles to which they are subjected. A proper integral and transversal analysis of the systems and/or processes is necessary to focus on optimising the energy they use. Europe is focusing on energy optimisation by electrifying components and systems in order to achieve growth that minimises the environmental impacts associated to technological development.
Electrification has already begun in essential sectors such as transport and industry, where significant efforts are being made. Sooner or later, this trend will reach all sectors of the European productive fabric, including the agricultural industry, to achieve growth that minimises the environmental impacts related to technological development.
All these statements were made during the online technical conference on “the possibilities of electrification and hybridisation of the agricultural and livestock machinery” organised by the Clúster Aragonés de los Medios de Producción Agrícolas y Ganaderos (CAMPAG). Pablo Martínez, Director of TECNALIA’s Automotive Business Area, participated in the event, where he shared his knowledge related to electrification solutions for heavy and special vehicles.
