ESTEYCO entrusts us with the design of a submarine cable for the connection of floating wind turbines

The TELWIND platform will reduce costs in the construction and installation of offshore wind farms

ESTEYCO, a company with vast experience in the design of offshore concrete platforms, has entrusted TECNALIA with the design of a dynamic energy transmission cable. Our experience in the design of connection elements for marine energy generation devices, as well as of floating platforms has earned us this trust.

The tailoring of this type of cables and of all the elements that ensure their integrity is vital to ensure the evacuation of the energy generated to land; bearing in mind that they are going to be subjected to continuous movements, friction, tension, and therefore, a hostile environment.

According to Joaquín Urbano, naval architect at ESTEYCO “This collaboration with TECNALIA offers us the opportunity to increase our capacity in the design of submarine cables for floating platforms”. .
