“In the fire safety laboratory, TECNALIA works to guarantee the safety of people and strict compliance with current regulations”
TECNALIA has extended its ENAC accreditation for extended application of test results (EXAP) for glass doors and sliding doors according to EN 15269-5 and EN 15269-7
TECNALIA has extended the scope of LE024 accreditation of its ENAC-accredited fire safety laboratory . TECNALIA introduces new extended applications of fire resistance test results (EXAP) according to EN 15269; EN 15269-5 for hinged and pivoted metal framed glazed doorsets, and EN 15269-7 for steel sliding doors.
Glass doors and sliding doors
Doors may be supplied in different sizes, thicknesses, types of attachment and/or on different supports. In practice, it is not feasible to test all of the configurations or combinations in each product family, in spite of the fact that they may significantly affect the result of the fire resistance test.
The result of a fire resistance test usually applies to the tested configuration and also includes a direct field of application, but it is possible to extend the test’s direct field of application with an appropriate test plan and the use of extended application standards (EXAPs).
EXAP Extended application of test results for fire resistance
With the accreditation of standards EN 15269-5 for hinged and pivoted metal framed glazed doorsets and EN 15269-7 for steel sliding doors, TECNALIA can extend the direct field of application established after a fire resistance test, and assess the possibility of incorporating new changes. TECNALIA obtains the widest field of application of the tested product and facilitates the certification of the entire product range.
These two new accreditations enable TECNALIA to broaden the scope of accreditation in the field of EXAPs, which is expected to be extended even further in the next few months.
