Free access to world-class offshore renewable energy test facilities

21 November 2018

3rd call now open

TECNALIA offers the industrial and scientific community free access to their offshore renewable energy infrastructures once more:

  • TECNALIA Component Corrosion Test Platform (HarshLab): an advanced floating platform moored 1,700 metres off the coast of Armintza (Bay of Biscay, Spain), designed for the evaluation of materials and components against corrosion, ageing and fouling in a real offshore environment.
  • TECNALIA Electrical PTO (Power Take Off): an emulator that reproduces the mechanical performance of an ocean energy device / wind turbine. It consists of an HIL (Hardware in the Loop) test bench for connection to the network of wind turbines and offshore energy converters, focusing on the testing of electrical components and control laws.
