Functional balance assessment and training system: EQUIMETRIX

The CENIE fosters research programmes, promotes initiatives that favour a change in the perception of the elderly, and develops training and information programmes. Among the six programmes related to different challenges deriving from the ageing of the population, they selected EQUIMETRIX, a functional balance assessment and training system designed at TECNALIA.

This initiative is framed within the BABEN programme, which includes the development of new technological tools to evaluate and train posture control, and its subsequent validation.

The hired research projects include nearly 500 researchers from 17 Spanish and Portuguese universities, and 1 US university. The 17 projects were selected from a total of 136 submissions.
