Functional printing technologies regenerate the traditional printing sector

13 February 2019

Products with multiple applications, at a low cost, mass produced with a reduced impact on the environment

One of the pillars that is reinventing the printing sector is the so-called functional printing, which opens new lines of business applied to various sectors.

Functional printing adds value to traditional printed products by combining traditional printing technologies (offset, rotogravure, silk-screen printing, etc.) with advanced materials like conductive, bioactive and thermochromic inks. Through this process, products with high added value are obtained for multiple applications, at a low cost, mass produced with a reduced impact on the environment.

At the Printing Innovation Zone, as part of the Transfiere 2019 meeting held in Malaga, we are presenting the new advanced printing technologies that we have developed and used with our clients so far.

  • Transparent printed circuit boards on light panels for aesthetic or informative purposes, together with DAISALUX.
  • DYNAMICALLY-LIT FLEXIBLE E-ROLL UP developed with printing technologies, together with GRUPO DELTA.
  • Printed circuit boards integrated into 3D thermoplastic compound structures, together with AERNNOVA.
  • Replacement of cables for aeronautical applications by printing carbon fibre thick metal structures, together with AIRBUS.
