“TECNALIA develops food and nutritional strategies that prevent diseases and improve quality of life”
Working on food innovation for a healthy and long life
Together with Bioaraba and the Basque Food Cluster, TECNALIA is working on the FOODICINE project to develop products and processes to obtain foods adapted to different stages of life. The ultimate goal is to ensure high-quality food that contributes to healthy ageing and reduction of social expenditure.
TECNALIA aims to recover all the research generated over time and make it available for food innovation, integrating it effectively in the development of products and nutritional strategies to improve the quality of life of society. To this end, it aims to involve a representative number of stakeholders from the food chain.
This project aims to adapt food products to different stages of life, ensuring high-quality nutrition that contributes to healthy ageing and reduced social spending.
Combining results for wider collaboration
The studies carried out in this project will be combined with another project called PRECERVAS, broadening the impact of this research. Collaboration between these projects will allow for synergies that enhance the results and benefits for society.
- The PRECERVAS project, led by CIC biomaGUNE, focuses on the prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents for healthy ageing.
A commitment to research and innovation
FOODICINE is funded by the aid programme for the design of Cross-cutting Collaborative R&D Projects, and is part of the Basque Government’s commitment to promoting research and innovation through the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) 2030.
This strategy aims to promote a more digital, green and inclusive Basque Country, through a triple transition: technological-digital, energy-climatic and social-health.
