Innovation in robotics to improve people’s quality of life

20 December 2018

The European Commission has invested 16 million Euro in DIH-HERO to accelerate innovation in robotics for healthcare

DIH-HERO (Digital Innovation Hub in Healthcare Robotics) promotes innovation and implementation of robotics in healthcare. In the next four years we will have a platform to connect companies, research centres, investors and any other body interested in making available to the health sector their innovative products and/or services in the field of robotics.

As coordinators of the platform in the Basque Country we try to integrate these innovations so that they are used efficiently. This initiative allows us to generate wealth along the entire value chain in the health care ecosystem: we share knowledge, connect stakeholders and stimulate investments.

DIH-HERO is part of the DIH on HealthcareDIH on Healthcare of the Basque Country (Health 4.0), led by the Basque Government Department of Health and has the collaboration of Osakidetza, GAIA, IK4, Kronikgune, Vicomtech, Corporación Mondragón, the University of Deusto, the UPV/EHU, Mondragón Unibertsitatea, BIOEF and the Basque Health Cluster, among others.

This initiative marks a real difference of the innovation in healthcare, taking to the market excellent products and services for the greater benefit of the final consumer: the patient.
