Marine energy week will reveal the latest experiences in offshore renewable energies

6 December 2018

Cost reduction is essential for the deployment of offshore renewable energies

In the 4th edition of Marine Energy Week, we will have the opportunity to understand the current situation and the trends in offshore energy in terms of wind power, ocean power and oil&gas. In this event, a series of relevant experiences related to floating structures, the extension of the life cycle of marine materials, components and equipment will be presented, as well as reliable tools for decision-making in O&M (Operations and Maintenance) which reduce the LCOE in offshore wind power; and open sea experiences for cost reduction in wave energy capture.

The congress will include a posters area organised by Euskampus [link] and JRL-ORE [link]. All posters will be eligible for the JRL-ORE – Euskampus Award for the best poster of the Marine Energy Week Congress, which will be granted once the event is over and will be published on the JRL-ORE website.

The 4th Marine Energy Week, organised by BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre), EVE (Basque Energy Agency) and TECNALIA, will be held in Bilbao on 13th February: it forms part of the World Maritime Week organised by BEC from 12th to 14th February. WMW2019 offers an exhibition area, different conferences and networking (private cocktails, posters area, WMW gala dinner and presentation of the 4th edition of the FINE Awards).
