Palacio Cibeles was the chosen venue to host this first international business HUB for Europe and Latin America
ANESE (Spanish Association of ESCOs), the institutional partner of Madrid Platform, recently hosted the International Seminar on Renewable Energy in Madrid. The goal of the seminar was to analyse the role of renewable energy in achieving a successful energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy.
Renewable energy is a priority to decarbonise tertiary, residential and industrial processes and sectors. These sectors account for most of the domestic CO2 emissions. Concepts such as shared self-consumption, local energy communities, and demand aggregation were discussed at this event.
Madrid Platform is the first international business HUB for Europe and Latin America and it has become an unmissable event to close international business deals and present investment plans and opportunities. This first edition included three sessions on closing deals and entrepreneurial debate, 55 events, 93 participating organisations, over 600 companies, more than 8,000 attendees (including on-site and on-line visitors), 48 countries connected to the streaming, and 20 countries represented by their embassies, chambers of commerce or international promotion bodies.

Round tables
Carlos Ballesteros, Director of ANESE, was the moderator for all three round tables. The first focused on analysing the “New business models for a sustainable energy sector: shared self-consumption, local energy communities, and demand aggregation". This debate included Pablo Álvarez, Power Services Director at Acciona; David Rodríguez, Operations Manager Spain at Schneider Electric; and Miguel Fandiño, Managing Director of Enertika.
The second round table focused on renewable technologies and their combination with other energy efficiency measures. ANESE included Iñigo Bertrand, CEO of EDF Fenice Ibérica; Juan Carlos Caballero, Energy Transition and IoT Project Manager at EcoMT; and Israel Ortega, Training & Technical Services Manager Iberia of Uponor.
Last of all, “European Funding opportunities for the energy sector” were the stars of the third round table, which included Oliverio Álvarez, Deloitte Partner; Albert Grau, Public Affairs Manager at Rockwool; and Francisco-Javier Herrera, TECNALIA Senior Regional Sales Manager.
