“We have led the SIGZE initiative, focusing on resilient heterogeneous IIoT systems for critical zero-emission gas storage and transportation processes”
The Basque industrial sector, smart cities and society face the integration of clean energies in their production systems and infrastructures
The SIGZE initiative worked on the development of resilient heterogeneous IIoT systems for critical zero-emission gas storage and transport processes. The project set out to bring together all the existing knowledge on digital technologies in order to develop solutions in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The aim is to provide safety and resilience in distribution networks and zero-emission gas storage systems.
Zero-emission gases, especially hydrogen, are seen as one of the main energy carriers of the future. However, there are still a number of challenges to be addressed, including those related to the infrastructure required for storage and transport.
TECNALIA’s participation in SIGZE
TECNALIA has participated in the development of new heterogeneous sensors for monitoring operating conditions, in the wireless charging system for new devices and in cryptographic techniques for securing IIoT communications.
On the data intelligence side, algorithms have been developed for real-time sensor fault detection and Deep Learning models for structure maintenance.
The project has been successfully completed and the main objectives have been achieved.
Consortium
Led by TECNALIA, the project counted on the participation of the IKOR Technology Centre, the Hydrogen Technologies research group at University of Mondragón and the ISG and MATHMODE groups at UPV/EHU , as well as the invaluable technical support of Petronor Innovation as a sectoral advisor.
Project funded by the Department for Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government (ELKARTEK 2021 programme)
