TECNALIA joins the competition between companies committed to sustainable mobility
TECNALIA will compete alongside national and international companies in the Urban Mobility Challenge from 16th September to 16th October. This is an initiative, within the framework of the European Mobility Week (EMW) 2024, which seeks to promote a change in the mobility habits of employees when commuting to work, encouraging the use of more sustainable, smarter and safer means of transport.
Urban Mobility Challenge
The competition, which is in its 7th edition, monitors the journeys to work by the employees of the participating companies; they register their activity through the Ciclogreen app, whereby journeys on foot, by bicycle, by public transport, etc. are rewarded with different scores or "cycles".
In this way, users can visualise the kilometres travelled, the type of journeys, CO2 savings and economic savings, among other things. In the previous edition, 45,000 journeys were recorded, 370,000 kilometres were travelled and 45 tonnes of CO2 emissions were avoided.
TECNALIA Decarbonisation Plan
One of the objectives of the TECNALIA Decarbonisation Plan is the gradual modification of the mobility habits of its employees to achieve a progressive reduction in CO2 emissions derived from transport to the workplace, in order to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.
European Mobility Week
European Mobility Week (EMW) 2024 aims to raise awareness of the public health and environmental benefits associated with the use of more sustainable means of transport; in particular public transport, cycling and walking.
