The DYNACAR® and vECUCAR simulation environment offers prototyping, implementation and real-time testing for the automotive industry

The model enables vehicle components and systems to be designed, developed and validated in a complete and customisable environment

DYNACAR® and vECUCAR is a complete vehicle model developed by TECNALIA which can be used by automotive engineers to design and test all types of vehicle sub-systems in a complete and customisable environment

This development vehicle can be used at all stages of the design process. It offers rapid prototyping, implementation and real-time testing of electronic control units (ECUs) and powertrain components.

The DYNACAR® and vECUCAR simulation environment is a dynamic vehicle model that works in real time and can be used to design, develop and validate components and systems for the automotive sector. It consists of various models (suspension, battery, combustion engine, electric motor, power inverter, wheels, etc.) which can be replaced by real physical parts driven on a test bench (Hardware in the Loop).

The dynamic model is connected to a simulator (steering wheel, accelerator and brake) which means it can be driven in a virtual environment, reproducing “real” driving conditions (Human in the Loop).

If we have a real-time simulator capable of interacting with people which is complemented by a real electric vehicle, then the quantity of information we are able to obtain is what makes this solution unique, as it considerably reduces the economic cost of physical tests.

We will be explaining how it works at the Eco Rallye Petronor in Bilbao from 11 to 13 October. The vehicle will be showcased in the exhibition area set up around El Arenal. Given the key location of the test we will not be able to see the vehicle in motion.
