The ADRA will coordinate the communities that support these technologies, stimulate private investment and target public funding to address key challenges.

The European Commission and the AI, Data and Robotics Association (ADRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or bilateral agreement as a European reference point for artificial intelligence, data and robotics. The objective is to address key challenges in European artificial intelligence, data and robotics over the period 2021-2030.

The ADRA promotes European competitiveness, social welfare and environmental aspects to lead the world in the research, development and implementation of reliable artificial intelligence, data and robotics underpinned by fundamental European rights, principles and values.

It was jointly founded on May 21 by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), the Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe (CLAIRE), the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS), the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI), and the European Robotics Association (euRobotics).

TECNALIA, through Jon Agirre Ibarbia, Head of Strategic Research Programmes for Manufacturing and Robotics, is a member of the Board of Directors of ADRA. It contributes to building a coherent infrastructure and an effective innovation ecosystem to stimulate deployment, adoption and future research: these are essential for the advancement of European artificial intelligence, data and robotics.
