“KATEA technological platform: three links in a big chain: Research Cloud, Data Lab and Compute Platform”

KATEA has brought together more than 100 companies for its launch

On Thursday 19th September, a very special event was held on the 29th floor of the Iberdrola Tower to present KATEA, our innovative technology platform designed to accelerate the digital transformation of companies. This event brought together more than 100 companies interested in discovering how KATEA can transform their processes and improve their operational efficiency.

What is KATEA?

KATEA is our technology platform made up of three unique infrastructures: a supercomputing centre, a data lab and a private cloud. These infrastructures work together to provide businesses with the necessary tools to boost their growth and competitiveness.

Technology partners and assistants

Our technological partners: Arista Networks, Dell Technologies, NVIDIA and Red Hat participated in the event. We were also honoured to welcome Mariona Sanz from Barcelona Supercomputing Center as Keynote Speaker, who spoke about the AI Factory and how supercomputing can drive the development of artificial intelligence.

We also had a very special presenter: a cybernetic (Cyborg) presenter called "K Ahotsa", who added a touch of originality to the event.

Highlights of the event

Our experts, Joseba Laka, Aitzol Zubizarreta, Óscar Lage, Jon De Isusi, Diana Manjarrés, Ana Isabel Torre and Artzai Picón, along with our partners, presented how open innovation and collaboration between different research actors is essential to advance in the roadmap of innovation, digitalisation and AI.

We explore:

  • Problems that can be solved by new technologies
  • Communications security and the future of Quantum Internet
  • The operationalisation of artificial intelligence through advanced hardware and efficient models
  • How images can be transformed
  • Supercomputing for analytics and data
