We are collaborating on the development of an “SRT” solution that optimises doses in treatments for patients with bipolar disorder

We are working on a comprehensive solution for the medical sector which consists of a set of AI-based algorithms. These determine the ideal dose of lithium to prescribe from a predictive model which calculates and aims to prevent variations in lithaemia (the reference value for lithium treatments in which the blood concentration is measured 12 hours after ingestion).

Its efficiency is assessed based on multiple clinical parameters, including real-time data on patients’ lifestyle, diet and sleep quality.

Thus, the solution is completed with real-time data collection and communication with patients through a transdermal patch ElCode.

The technology developed at TECNALIA monitors the blood lithium concentration which is required to administer and monitor the treatment. In addition, this solution incorporates a mobile app and an activity tracker which forwards the results to the clinician.

It is expected to be launched on the market in September 2020.
