Capture of industrial residual heat by radiation for its efficient and competitive re-use

calor residual industrial

Development of a system for heat recovery based on a technology that is not commonly used today: heat recovery by radiation. It is focused on the recovery of residual heat in energy intensive industries in which high temperatures are reached.

An energy-efficient industry manages its energy resources optimally, reduces its costs, environmental impact and increases its competitiveness.

Significant heat losses are produced through high temperature parts and equipment in the form of radiation. This project develops a radiation heat collector for its re-use, particularly in energy intensive industries in which high temperatures are reached (e.g. steelworks).

In this development, we are participating in the design, modelling and validation of the heat collector prototype that constitutes the materialisation of the project; as well as a high absorptivity coating for high temperatures that significantly increases the collection properties, affecting its performance.
