Urban Regeneration and Productive Reconversion Master Plan for the Four Central Districts of San José, Costa Rica

Integrated and multidimensional analysis (physical-environmental, social and economic) for the development of this Plan from an innovative approach, that addresses the city’s productive reconversion based on an urban regeneration strategy and the commitment of the four central districts of San José, Costa Rica, to culture, tourism and high technology.

This plan, opened for bidding by the BID includes:

  • A multidimensional and integrated analysis (physical-environmental, social and economic) based on GIS.
  • The definition of the 2050 vision, objectives, strategic lines, as well as the projects and programmes for each line.
  • The design of the Plan’s management, funding and governance models.
  • The definition of the strategic action plans for the three urban central locations identified: historical centre, González Víquez and Transversal 24.
  • The design of three “triggering projects” for their feasibility study, one for each central urban location.
