Laboratory for carrying out on-site testing prior to commissioning high voltage underground and underwater cables.
Tests are carried out on finished installations prior to connecting them to the network and putting them into service, in order to check that the wiring and their accessories are in good condition and to ensure that they work properly throughout their life under nominal conditions.
Location
Description
On-site testing includes low voltage measurements and checks (conductor and shielding resistance, line impedance, capacity, check on earthing) and high voltage tests, which affect both the insulation of cable sleeving and the main insulation of the cable.
The latter group includes tan delta and partial discharge measurements and withstand voltage testing.
Voltage is applied to the cable by means of a WRV 260/80 Resonant system. The measurement of partial discharges is the most critical test, as it requires a great deal of knowledge and experience of measuring to devise the methodology and interpret the measurements properly, both in the laboratory and on site.
Tests are carried out on cables in substations, transmission lines, output from power stations and industrial plants, among others.
We have 15 years of experience in this activity and have tested more than 700 three-phase circuits in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Colombia.
Aimed at:
- Electrical companies.
- Industrial plants.
- Cable manufacturers.
- Engineers and installers.
