The deadline for applications is July 29: the winners will be announced on September 20, after defending their proposals in front of a panel of experts.
The MUBIL New Mobility Centre, a physical space for developing activities, science and knowledge on smart and sustainable mobility, has launched "MUBIL Mobility Awards". These awards are aimed at promoting technological projects capable of changing the mobility of the future, high-impact technologies that are at least at the prototyping stage.
In this phase, there is a feasible minimum product or a model, representation, demo or simulation that solves the problem identified in line with MUBIL's strategic areas of action - connected mobility, autonomous mobility, shared mobility, electric mobility and related infrastructures.
Two winners will be chosen from all the projects submitted. The first prize will consist of 25,000 euros in cash, plus a 12-month stay in Gipuzkoa to make the most of the MUBIL ecosystem. The runner-up will receive 10,000 euros, plus the same benefits to develop their project in a 12-month stay within the MUBIL ecosystem.
The registration period for projects is open until July 29. The winners will be announced at the grand final on September 20, after defending their proposals in front of a panel of experts.
The jury in charge of assessing the short-listed projects will be made up of top-level experts on mobility and investors, including María Luisa Arriola, General Manager of BIC Gipuzkoa; Javier Hernández, Business Development and M&A Director at Littelfuse, entrepreneurship at IESE Business School and founding partner of the consultancy Alfil; Mikel Lasa, General Manager of KIC InnoEnergy Iberia; Ignacio Martín, board member of Repsol, Bankoa-Abanca, Indra Sistemas and Acerinox; Virginia Oregui, Managing Director of Geroa; Imanol Rego, Managing Director of Irizar e-mobility, and Jokin Lopetegi, Head of Corporate Development and New Business at CAF.
Industrial benchmark in new mobility
The MUBIL strategy aims to make the Basque Country an industrial benchmark in new mobility and energy storage on an international level. This strategy is embodied in the New Mobility Hub, a space-ecosystem for meeting, interacting and integrating, in which new opportunities are created, and where innovation becomes a strategic and competitive factor for business and social development.
