Genetic Diagnosis brochure
Development of a new analysis and evaluation system for embryos in cultivation, using new advanced image processing techniques and machine learning, along with the genetic analysis. The combined use of both technologies enables the quality and viability of the embryo to be evaluated, minimising the subjectivity of the existing evaluation system.
The categorisation of the embryos generated in assisted reproduction (IVF) cycles is one of the critical phases in the process; as it involves the selection of those embryos with the greatest potential to lead to pregnancy. Until a few years ago, this criteria was mainly morphological, with a high degree of subjectivity. Genetic analysis of embryos has recently been introduced as a selection criteria, adding an increased level of objectivity when it comes to categorising the embryo’s viability potential.
The EMVISGEN Project arose with the idea of improving the classification of embryos generated in IVF cycles, introducing the use of Artificial Intelligence systems and image analysis for the appraisal of embryo quality.
