Symbiotics based on micro-encapsulation technologies for the proper biological activity, with the ability to modulate the systematic immunity aimed at the treatment of asthma.
Obtaining bio-compounds through the development of innovative symbiotics using micro-encapsulation technologies to achieve complementary immunotherapy to existing asthma treatments. The objectives of the BIOTASMA project are:
- Select and produce probiotics with modulating activity.
- Identify probiotics, postbiotics and/or prebiotic with anti-inflammatory activity.
- Establish the most suitable micro-encapsulation technology to develop symbiotics based on the bioavailability requirements in the organism, bearing in mind that the probiotic should maintain its viability throughout the gastrointestinal tract.
- Evaluate the survival of the probiotic and the amount of postbiotic and/or prebiotic through the gastro-intestinal simulation model.
- Evaluate the probiotic effect in the humanised mouse microbiota or avatar of asthmatic patients.
- Establish the initial conditions for the formulation of food supplements with the project results.
