Development of a ventilated cladding system with high fire performance

Development of a new ventilated cladding system with improved fire performance, guaranteeing its weather durability, product aesthetics and safety in use, in accordance with the requirements set out in the applicable standards in the target markets.

The following methodology has been used in the development of the project:

  • Analysis of regulations and other prevailing standards in the target countries.
  • Performance of laboratory scale tests to analyse the parameters related to reaction to fire of the exterior coating of the cladding system.
  • Adaptation of an intermediate scale test methodology to obtain predictive results in terms of the system’s fire performance.
  • Performance of intermediate scale tests for a preliminary analysis of the performance of the whole cladding system.
  • Analysis of the results obtained from the intermediate-scale tests to define the coatings and systems to address large-scale testing.
  • Performance of large-scale testing of the full cladding system.
  • Analysis and Improvement of the critical parameters observed in large-scale testing.
